Help me go to France.

My name is Camille Buttram and I am a student at Wake Forest Roseville High School. I am in French 3 and I am an active officer in the French club at my school. This summer the French department is taking a trip to France. My teacher, Madame Marker, is working with Junior Diplomat to plan this trip. It will be a 10 day trip that I am dying to go on.

The Information Madame Marker has given us says “The purpose of this trip is to provide an opportunity for prospective students to connect the French class with a real life experience in France and get a better understanding of its culture, way of life, language and history in the safety of a well timed and organized group itinerary through some of the most famous landmarks of France.”

It also goes on to explain our living conditions and the landmarks we will visit. Some examples include The Eiffel Tower, the Musee d’Orsay, the Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral. Most of all, we’re going to the Louvre, which I will enjoy most of all. I love art, and I am a huge fan of Leonardo DaVinci, and the Louvre is full of his art, including his most famous piece, the Mona Lisa.

I would enjoy this trip greatly, but it is an expensive trip and finances are a little tight for my parents. I’ve been asking for donations and doing odd art jobs for friends and family, and that is why I’m writing this, to ask for help in pay for a potentially unforgettable trip I could be a part of. I’ve applied for a job and my parents are going to help the best they can, but I would still appreciate any help you have to offer.

Thank You in advance.

Camille

Camille, this is so exciting! I have a fund raising idea - set up an ebay acct and get people to donate things you can auction off. I will donate some signed copies of my books for you to ebay or just sell them to your friends, etc. Call me.

Love you,
Memaw

When is your trip?

I'm not sure if Camille knows how to check comments yet, and she's not home right now, so I'll answer Deborah's question - sort of - I think it's June--shortly after school gets out. She has to have everything paid for in April (don't forget her birthday is in April!)
